TOMBSTONE-BASED WORKHOLDING ACCESSORIES
& FIXTURE PLATES
All of our cube-type workholding can be supplied with a broad range of accessories. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
LIFTING EYES
Both fixed and swivel style lifting eyes to facilitate the safe handling of your tombstone-based workholding and fixturing. All tombstone-based workholding includes tapped holes in the top face (appropriate tap size for assumed weight). The position and size of lifting holes can be altered to specification.
EDGE LOCATORS
For pallet edge location, fine adjustment, or protection of pallet edges. Tombstones can be supplied with tapped holes and milled pockets in the pallet edge to facilitate direct mounting. Hardened and ground. Made to order.
BASE LOCATORS
For pallet location; an alternative to edge locators. Tombstones can be supplied with tapped and location holes in the pallet base to facilitate direct mounting. Hardened and ground, and can be supplied in round or diamond form. Typically made to order (although we do hold a small range in stock).
FIXTURE PLATE LOCATORS
For fixture plate location. Tombstones can be supplied with tapped and location holes in the mounting faces to facilitate direct mounting. Hardened and ground, and can be supplied in round or diamond form. Typically made to order (although we do hold a small range in stock). We also supply fixture plates - see below.
TOP PLATES
To cover the internal cavities of the tombstone and prevent the ingress of coolant and machine cuttings. Made to order.
FIXTURE PLATES
All plain-faced tombstones are available with precise locations to accept a large range of fixture plates with guaranteed permanent datums and interchangeability.
Plates are made from stress-relieved steel (aluminum is an option). They are precision-finished and ready to accept modular or special fixturing.
Accumulative tolerances on grid/tee-slot pitchings are 0.015/100mm. Tolerances on hole size for plates is F7.
PLAIN FIXTURE PLATES TYPE CP
Plain fixture plates are made from stress-relieved steel or tooling-quality aluminum and finished ready to be machined to suit the required fixturing.
Suffix code identification:
S - Steel unhardened
A - Aluminum
May be supplied without fixing holes if requested.
GRID TYPE FIXTURE PLATES TYPE CP-G
Sizes can be made to order, and many grid/hole size combinations can be made. If required, fixturing appropriate to the component and its machining operation can be designed and manufactured by Chevin Tools.
Suffix code identification:
HG - Steel, pre-hardened to HRC 30/32
SG - Steel, unhardened. Holes bushed. Threads wire inserted
AG - Tooling aluminum. Holes bushed. Threads wire inserted
TEE-SLOT TYPE FIXTURE PLATES TYPE CP-T
Tee slot plates are made from stress relieved steel. They are precision finished and ready to accept modular or special fixturing with standard tee slots of 12, 13, and 18mm. Other sizes can be made to order.

ST - Steel, unhardened
HT - Steel, pre-hardened to HRC 30/32
